| THQ brings back everyone’s favorite sponge who lives in a pineapple under the sea. SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS: THE YELLOW AVENGER for the PSP puts gamers back into the role of SpongeBob as he sets out on his latest hilarious adventure. Bikini Bottom is hosting the Super Villain Twenty Year Reunion, and everyone is excited. But before the festivities can begin, evil villain Dirty Bubble kidnaps SpongeBob’s favorite heroes, Mermaidman and Barnacleboy! It’s up to SpongeBob and his friends to save their heroes before Dirty Bubble completes his evil scheme. Fortunately for SpongeBob, Mermaidman left behind his powerful utility belt. Using this belt, SpongeBob can use superpowers to summon a sea creature, call up a whirlwind, gain super strength, and run incredibly fast. The belt only gives SpongeBob powers if he knows how to use it correctly, however, so players will have to learn which controls on the belt do what in order to get SpongeBob through the multiple levels and obstacles he will face before he confronts Dirty Bubble. Another interesting aspect of The Yellow Avenger is its non-linear gameplay. Players don’t have to accomplish tasks in any certain order, nor do they necessarily have to complete every mission to save Mermaidman. This allows players to explore Bikini Bottom at their leisure and interact with many SpongeBob characters. This non-linear gameplay makes SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS: THE YELLOW AVENGER a fun, highly entertaining game for any fan of SpongeBob.
